The Advent of Zaman
Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri was born in Karbala, Iraq, a decendant of several generations of well-known and revered spiritual leaders. Educated in Europe and America, he has established several business and charitable trusts.
To quote from an introduction by Robert Frager: "Shaykh Fadhlalla is a man who is completely at home in the East and the West. He is a scholar and an effective and practical sufi teacher, an international businessman and also an international philantropist". He currently resides in South Africa and England an continues to travel and lecture widely, and is the author of many books.
The Qur'an reflects the abolute truth in all aspects. In its garden one hears the erenal song of mercy, love and the oneness of creational reality. In the Qur'an we see the laws which govern the experiential, physical world as well as the subtle hidden world.
The Mercy of Qur'an and the Advent of Zaman is a remarkable commentary on the four selected Meccan Surahs that open up great vistas of inner meanings in the Qur'an. Surah al-Ankabut, Surah ar-Rahman, Surah al-Waqiah and Surah al-Mulk. This book attempts to seek from the Qur'an the knowledge of a way of living that will enable man, here and now, during his short lifetime, to travel courageously, purposefully and humbly towards his noble destiny, his Creator.
