Belivei it or not, Ibn Taimiyya was himself a Sufi of the Qadiri Order! But he accepted Tasawwuf on the condition that it follows shari'ah, which no Sufi order object. In fact Shari'ah is like a boat, Tariqa is like an ocean and Haqiqat is like the precious pearl. Who ever aspires after the pearl must (definitely) embark on the boat and then dive into the ocean. Logically nobody reaches the pearl without having to sail on the boat.
